ABOUT THE TOUCAN TEAM
We are a small family owned & operated business. Consisting of Sam (Auto Technician), JoLeen (Office Manager), Loretta (Office Assistant) and, Tuff and Stella (the greeting committee).
SAM
Sam and his wife JoLeen are the parents of 4 children. Matthew and wife Desi and their 2 daughters Ellie and Nora of Evenston, WY. Isaac and wife Lindsay and daughter Laylah of Baltic, MI. Bradley of Atlantic Mine, MI., and Emma of Atlantic Mine, MI.
Sam has been in business of his own since 2002 but has been a mechanic since 1989. Sam will work on basically anything and everything. In the 30+ years that he has been repairing vehicles, it does not matter who the auto manufacturer is, Sam has the knowledge and experience and equipment to do it all. Sam worked the business for 12 years on his own until his wife and son joined his team. He is a 20 year volunteer member of the Adams Township fire and First Responders.
Sam enjoys camping, traveling, off-roading, hunting, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
JOLEEN
With the growing demand of the business, JoLeen came aboard in 2014 full time. Prior to she worked for a local accounting firm until their third child was born then, she was at home raising their 4 children and worked as an aide at the local Elementary School.
JoLeen and Sam reside in Atlantic Mine with 2 of their 4 children still living at home. She enjoys camping, traveling, off-roading, hunting, reading, crafting, gardening and spending quality time with her family and special friends.
JoLeen takes care of the daily aspects of the business while Sam and Brad do the repairs. She is a face you will see as soon as you step foot in the door. She not only handles office work, but understands what needs to be done.
BRAD
Brad Jenkins joined our team in February of 2020. He is a resident of Atlantic Mine, MI. Brad was born and raised in Painesdale and is the son of Sam and JoLeen. With new growth in the business Brad joined our team to assist JoLeen in taking care of daily aspects of the business. He is Sam’s assistant with vehicle repairs. He will be one of the voices you hear when you call or the faces you see when you visit. Brad enjoys snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, hunting and gaming.
TUFF, STELLA & VERN
Tuff and Stella are among the greeting committee of the shop. They are a father daughter combo that greet you with their friendly faces when you step in the door. They spend each and every day at the shop. Their main job is to sleep and get under your feet while the rest of us are hard at work. They have many visitors that stop in just to see them and bring them treats.
In January of 2022 it is with a huge broken hear that we must pass on the word that we lost our beloved boy Tuff. He fought a month long battle of cancer that took him to the rainbow bridge. He loved all that walked thru the door and let him sit on their feet to share his love and hair. We will forever hold him in our heart and miss him each and every day. He will be sadly missed by many that got to know him.
In March of 2022 we were so lonely without our Tuff around that we adopted a new fur baby. His name is Vern. He is a goldendoodle. He is settling in well here at the shop and works just as hard as Stella, sleeping and getting under our feet. Please welcome him to our team and we look forward to you all getting to meet him.
